“Be passionate in whatever you do, and success will follow” – Monika Sharma

March 12 2021: It is indeed a proud moment for any Alma Mater, when it welcomes its Alumnus who has etched their names in the annals of Corporate Success, and today it was a similar emotion when IPS BUSINESS SCHOOL welcomed its 2018-20 Alumnus Monika Sharma, for the ‘Meet Your Alumni Session’ for its First Semester MBA Batch.

Addressing her juniors, Monika who is today a celebrated face in VIVO Rajasthan – with responsibilities as diverse as Finance, Business Analysis, Marketing Projects and Legal aspects – an association which had begun as an internship, during her III Semester at IPS BUSINESS SCHOOL, transformed into full time employment as a PPO in her IV Semester.

Sharing her journey through the professional corridors, where today she has been awarded with the title of ‘Walking Encyclopedia of VIVO’, and also conferred with three increments in a single year – a landmark achievement in the history of VIVO Rajasthan, she said, she owed it all to the learning at IPS BUSINESS SCHOOL.

She vividly categorized the practical approach of IPS BUSINESS SCHOOL and the academic excellence of its Faculty Members with special emphasis on the unique pedagogy of On-Job-Training and Live Projects as the three pillars responsible for her numerous milestones at VIVO in a short span of 18 months.

Describing herself as a person who always wanted to experience everything – academic and extra-curricular, an individual who loves to live life, a student who always gave more importance to classroom lecture rather than cramming books at the last moment and grabbed every opportunity which came her way – in terms of managing events, conclaves and symposiums that were organized in the college as well as the internships and live projects offered by the Training and Placement Cell. This allowed her to internalize the important facets of time management, smart work, negotiation and doing justice to more than one task at the same time through phased out priorities.

Starting off as a MBA student who thought that Marketing would be her forte in future, she said she did not flinch when she was offered with a Finance profile in VIVO, as she is always eager to learn new concepts and practices and she believes that the accumulated skills can always be utilized in any profile, and new technical skills can be added on continuously.

She advised her juniors to be passionate on whatever they do, concentrate on learning and not the stipend during internships and On-Job-Trainings and be patient. Flaunting an aggregate score of 87% in her MBA, she motivated the current batch to be proactive in the class-room, and ensure that they clarify all their doubts, as it was the lectures and only the lectures which were the single-most important reason for her aggregate percentage.

She concluded the session by coaxing her juniors to ensure that they utilize the opportunities they have now. To dirty their hands and gain experiential learning in all the processes of business to optimally utilize their potential and capabilities, so that tomorrow there should be no remorse about not being able to do what they really aspired for.
